ACES & EIGHTS
Chris Fisher (Bass, Vocals)

Ok, here’s where I tell you all about me, are you ready? It’s really not that great, but I am obliged to tell you something, anything. Just kidding. I was born August 9, 1966 in Akron, Ohio and I love anything related to music. My very earliest memories are the sounds of “Immigrant Song”, from Led Zeppelin III, at my family’s lake house when I was 4 years old. I started playing violin in the 4th grade orchestra, but I hated to practice. In the 8th grade, I changed over to the upright (contrabass) bass and started really learning how to practice and play the instrument well, or at least not bad.

That same school year, I started eyeing a Fender P-bass copy in the local music store. With my dad’s help, I bought it new for $150 in 1981. I immediately started playing to all my favorites records and practiced for hours a day. Rush was my favorite band, and learning Tom Sawyer was a turning point in my early playing. I have been in several bands throughout my later teen years, into my 20’s, and to the present. Most notably, Alter Ego, Sunday’s Child, The Plunge, Six Foot Heroes and Saints of Silence. All of these projects were primarily original bands that played some covers. While in Alter Ego, I was in the August 1990 edition of Guitar Player Magazine in an article featuring Glen Kuykendall who won a guitar contest. That was my 5 seconds of fame.

My latest project is Aces & Eights, a very talented and high-powered cover band, and it is a blast! I really enjoy the time me and the guys get to jam together. We can’t wait to play for you! Right now, I’m playing my Warwick Pro-M 5-string through a Digitech BP8 floor pedal and into my Hartke 3000 bass amp and SWR Goliath II 4-10” cabinet.
